Session two of the windy weekend. It took some time to find the right rig for the conditions today but I eventually settled on a well downhauled 4.5 which proved to be the perfect tool for the job until mid-afternoon when even that became too big. The sea state was very confused around low water but the H'ove waves really picked up as the tide pushed in with some coming in proper sets well over head high. But as usual it was very difficult to do anything rewarding with them, dunno why, wind too onshore, waves not steep/clean enough? A bigger problem was the chop - seriously bad, can't remember ever sailing in anything worse - which turned not just the waveriding but the whole sailing experience into a real struggle. Mustn't grumble though - wind waves and sunshine only 10 minutes from my front door in August - life could be worse. A really good workout today surviving the manic wind, chop and shorebreak and overall a satisfying weekend. And plenty more forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. :)
